The CEN provides category-specific upper-age relaxations, including five years for SC/ST and three for OBC non-creamy layer, with separate rules for other eligible groups. Check both the relevant category and the documentary conditions.
Match the exact qualification row
Annexure A maps posts to the required qualification and medical standard. Use the row for the post you selected, including the engineering discipline and any permitted degree-in-lieu provision. A qualification acceptable for one JE category should not be assumed valid for all categories or for DMS.
The required qualification must have been obtained by the closing date specified in the notice. Candidates awaiting the required final result are not treated as qualified merely because they expect to pass later.
Examination group and preferences
Where the notification maps qualifications to examination groups, the chosen group must be compatible with the selected posts. Record the category numbers and qualification evidence before arranging preferences. Read subsequent amendments if they add or modify a post; the initial JE/DMS table is not a substitute for a later revised row.
Medical suitability and nationality
Medical standards are post-specific and include the requirements stated in the CEN and post parameters. Nationality and eligibility-certificate provisions are separate from academic qualifications. This guide cannot determine an individual candidate’s medical fitness from a degree name or a self-reported health description.
