UPSC has issued the Engineering Services 2027 notification. The stated application deadline is 6 October 2026 at 6:00 pm IST, and Preliminary is scheduled for 31 January 2027. This deadline is an exact cut-off, not an indefinite “apply now” invitation. Separately, the ESE 2026 Main result was published on 24 July and its personality-test schedule began on 21 September.

Admit-card status and notification
The 2027 Preliminary examination page reviewed on 6 October lists its notification but does not display an admit-card release entry. This guide does not invent a download date or call the card “out”. The 2026 Main page retains its 12 June e-admit-card entry and later interview notices; that historical entry is not proof that the old download facility remains open.

How to obtain the official document
Open the relevant UPSC examination page, follow its official admission-document link when available, and sign in using the details requested by the portal. Confirm the examination name, year and stage before downloading. Save a readable copy and follow the printing and identity-document instructions on it. Never share passwords or OTPs with a third-party “admit card service”.
What to verify on the card or e-summon
Check your name, roll/application details, photograph and signature, examination or interview date, reporting time and venue. Read the original instructions for permitted items, identity proof and required certificates. For ESE 2026 interviews, the published schedule gives reporting at 9:00 am or 1:00 pm according to session; use your own assigned entry.
Errors, missing documents and next steps
Use the official contact/help route specified in the current notice or portal for discrepancies. Do not edit a downloaded document yourself. The 2026 schedule states that requests to change the interview date and time will not be entertained. Admission remains provisional until eligibility and documents are verified.

The objective-paper penalty is one-third of the marks assigned to a wrong answer; unanswered questions have no penalty. Main conventional papers are set and answered in English. Use the notification’s discipline-specific syllabus for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Do not apply the Civil Services rule excluding Preliminary marks to ESE.
