LIC AAO 2026–27 Guide: Recruitment Status, Eligibility & Preparation

LIC AAO official recruitment status, Generalist pattern, salary and preparation, with the 2025 recruitment clearly distinguished from future applications.

Latest official update

LIC’s current AAO recruitment page publishes Generalist and Specialist cut-offs, marks and lists of candidates shortlisted after the pre-recruitment medical examination for the 32nd batch. These records belong to the 2025 recruitment, whose process continued into 2026. This guide does not turn those results into a newly opened 2026 or 2027 application.

What to check before acting

Generalist, Specialist and Assistant Engineer notices are not interchangeable. Choose the exact stream first, then the relevant result or marks link. A page containing interview, reprint and marks services is not evidence that new applications are open. For a future opportunity, use a fresh recruitment notice rather than reusing the old registration form.

Notification and important dates

The Generalist notification sets the original rules. LIC’s recruitment page contains subsequent stage notices and outcomes.

Vacancies and eligibility

The 350 Generalist vacancies are the original recruitment figure, not a new 2026 intake. The ordinary age range was 21–30 on 1 August 2025, with notification-specific relaxations. Generalist eligibility required a bachelor’s degree from a recognised Indian university or institution. Specialist disciplines have additional requirements and should be researched from their own notification.

Application and fees

No application is invited through this guide. The documented window has closed. If a new cycle is announced, check its age reference, qualification deadline, fee, image specifications and permitted edits before submitting. Use the application link reached through LIC Careers and retain the completed form and receipt. An old form-reprinting service is for existing applicants.

Preliminary rankingEnglish is qualifying; its marks are excluded from ranking
Main objective test120 questions, 300 marks, two hours
Main subjectsReasoning; General Knowledge/Current Affairs; Data Analysis and Interpretation; Insurance and Financial Market Awareness
Descriptive EnglishTwo tasks, 25 marks, 30 minutes; qualifying
Negative markingThe cited Generalist notice specifies none

Syllabus and preparation

Build separate plans for the preliminary screening test and the main examination. Practise reasoning and quantitative sets under the sectional time limits. For the main examination, add insurance and financial awareness and practise interpreting data accurately. Descriptive English requires writing practice, even though it is qualifying.

Use a weekly review sheet to track speed, accuracy and missed topics. Explain a wrong answer in your own words before reattempting it. Treat this as preparation guidance based on the documented Generalist scheme; a future notice may change the structure.

Selection and result interpretation

The cited process uses preliminary and main examinations, interview and pre-recruitment medical examination. Preliminary marks do not form the final merit score; main and interview performance are considered under the notice. A shortlist is a stage-specific outcome. Read the conditions accompanying a list before assuming appointment is final.

Salary and role

The Generalist notification states initial basic pay of ₹88,635 plus admissible allowances. Basic pay, gross emoluments and take-home pay are different. Posting, allowances and deductions affect the amount received. Review service, probation and posting conditions in the notification before comparing this role with other recruitment options.

Previous papers and available resources

Use the existing LIC AAO previous-paper resource as a starting point for practice. Check whether each file is an official paper, a recalled paper or a practice set, and retain its actual year. Do not assume a paper from another banking examination has LIC’s exact marking scheme.

There is no need to create separate pages for every short subsection here. The main guide supplies orientation; the existing paper resource serves the distinct task of practice.
