IBPS Clerk / CSA XVI: latest update — 16 October 2026
IBPS uses Customer Service Associate (CSA) for the clerical-cadre recruitment. CSA XVI is the 2026 examination process for participating-bank vacancies of 2027–28. Registration is closed. The annual calendar’s preliminary dates, 10–11 October, have passed; Main is tentatively listed for 27 December 2026.
The official question-reporting window ran from 13–15 October and is also closed. This was a post-examination facility, not a new recruitment application. Follow the CSA XVI notice register for the next stage.

Notification and vacancy updates
Read the CSA XVI detailed notification with later corrigenda. The official register includes a 29 September vacancy update. Compare the state/UT, category and participating bank; do not substitute a national headline count for the vacancies relevant to your application.
Important dates and application status
| Event | Published date or status |
|---|---|
| Registration and fees | Official application portal: 1–28 August 2026; closed |
| Editing window | 4–5 September 2026; closed |
| Preliminary calendar dates | 10–11 October 2026; past |
| Main calendar date | 27 December 2026; tentative |
The official registration record shows a later closing date than the base notice. The banking calendar is a planning reference; your call letter controls venue, reporting time and personal instructions. Do not pay a third party to reopen an expired application.
Eligibility, state choice and language
The base notice sets ordinary age at 20–28 on 1 August 2026, with the specified category relaxations. Graduation, computer literacy and local-language requirements also apply. Check the exact qualification cut-off and any amendment in the notice rather than borrowing the PO age rules.
Keep your chosen state/UT and language consistent with your application. A language certificate, category certificate and degree certificate answer different requirements. Put them in separate checklist entries so that a missing document is visible early.
Exam pattern and preparation
The XVI Main scheme has 160 questions for 200 marks in 125 minutes: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. Preliminary screening has 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes. Wrong objective answers incur one-quarter of the marks assigned to that question; unanswered questions do not incur that penalty.
Use the detailed pattern and stage guide for section timing. For study, divide practice into accuracy, timed sections and full mocks. Review whether each mistake came from a concept gap, calculation, reading or time allocation; use that record to decide your next revision session.
Result, selection and salary
A preliminary shortlist is not final selection. Match the CRP number, state and stage on every result notice. Main merit, applicable local-language requirements, eligibility verification and bank conditions must be satisfied. The notification’s basic-pay scale starts at ₹24,050; allowances and deductions mean this is not a guaranteed take-home salary.

Use a past paper for practice with its actual year and stage. Adjust the timed session to the current notification; an older paper is not evidence of current vacancies or open registration.
Keep recruitment cycles separate
CSA XV and CSA XVI are different recruitments. A reserve list or allotment from an older CRP is not the result for XVI. Keep the complete identifier in saved PDFs and filenames. This hub retains its permanent URL while cycle-specific documents retain their own dates.
Official sources and common questions
Source review: 16 October 2026. The linked detailed notice, registration record and CSA XVI register support this page. The official calendar supplies tentative examination dates; the question-reporting record supplies its closed window.
Can I apply now?
The reviewed registration window closed on 28 August. A result or call-letter link does not reopen it.
Is IBPS RRB the same exam?
No. Regional Rural Bank recruitment has different roles, notices and dates. Do not use its Officer or Office Assistant timetable for CSA.
