The UPSC Calendar 2026 is a planning document; exam-specific notifications can change its dates. This guide separates the original calendar from later published examination records.

What changed from the original calendar?

The original 2026 calendar planned CSE notification for 14 January and applications to close on 3 February. The later notification examination page records 4 February and 27 February. The original NDA/CDS II closing date was 9 June; the examination page records 11 June. This is why a calendar date must be checked against the examination’s own notice.

UPSC 2026 dates: notification records take priority

The following entries come from the UPSC examination-notification register. These application deadlines and examination dates are past as of this review; they do not represent open applications.

How to keep your preparation calendar accurate

  1. Save the official calendar with its year and upload date.
  2. Create a separate entry for your examination’s notification, closing deadline, correction window, timetable and admit card.
  3. When a newer notice changes a date, record the notice URL beside the replacement date.
  4. Distinguish “planned in the calendar” from “confirmed in the examination notice”.
  5. Use the individual admission certificate for venue and reporting instructions. Do not infer those details from an annual calendar.

Avoid combining unrelated UPSC examinations

CSE, IFoS, CDS, NDA, CMS, CAPF, ESE and IES/ISS have different qualifications and selection stages. A reserved date in the calendar is not an invitation to apply. Keep the full examination name and year beside every deadline.

Remaining dates shown in the 2026 annual calendar

The calendar lists Indian Forest Service Main from 22 November 2026 and SO/Steno LDCE from 12 December 2026. These are calendar entries, not confirmation of an individual candidate’s schedule. Check the applicable notice, timetable and admission certificate before travel or application decisions. Reserved examination slots are not announcements of a new vacancy.

Planning for UPSC 2027

The published 2027 calendar lists CSE Prelims on 23 May 2027, with notification planned for 13 January and applications to close on 2 February. CSE Main is listed from 20 August. NDA/CDS I is listed for 11 April and NDA/CDS II for 19 September. These dates remain subject to alteration.
