What changed and what to check next

The 2026 examination has reached the answer-key stage in the reviewed notice board. SSC also published a 23 September addendum on mandatory Mangal font use for the Hindi typing/skill test. Read that addendum before preparing for the Hindi skill test. The Grade C limited departmental examination is a separate examination and must not be confused with this open recruitment.

No old merit-list PDF is labelled as the new examination’s result. Use both the write-up and the appropriate Grade C/Grade D candidate list when SSC publishes them.

Important dates and release status

The tentative answer-key notice is dated 23 September 2026. The reviewed register does not establish a release date for the 2026 result, scorecard or final selection. A predicted month on another website is not an official deadline. Check the actual notice for any response-sheet or challenge window; the presence of a notice does not mean that its portal remains open.

How to download the result when released

  1. Open the official SSC website and choose Result.
  2. Select STENO, not the limited departmental examination category.
  3. Match the title to the 2026 examination and the stage you took.
  4. Download the write-up and the relevant Grade C or Grade D list.
  5. Search your roll number and read the list heading, conditions and next-stage instructions.
  6. Save the documents. Check SSC and the appropriate regional or user-department notice for the next action.

Cut-off marks and scorecard

The cut-off must come from the result write-up for the exact examination, category, grade and stage. Minimum qualifying marks are not automatically the competitive shortlist cut-off. No predicted cut-off or personal score is presented here as official. A marks/scorecard login, a tentative answer key and a shortlist PDF serve different purposes; each may have its own availability period.

Selection process and next stage

Follow the computer-based examination and stenography skill-test requirements in the current notification. A written-examination shortlist is not a final appointment. Read the applicable preference, allocation, document-verification and user-department requirements in subsequent official notices. Keep your application, identity, education and category documents available, but use the actual notice for the complete document list and reporting date.

Preparation for the 2026–27 session

Continue stenography dictation and transcription practice under the current grade-specific conditions while waiting for the result. Hindi candidates should incorporate the notified Mangal-font requirement. Use the official scheme to choose practice timings and evaluate accuracy. Preparation advice cannot guarantee selection. A later 2027 notification must be checked separately; its dates and vacancies are not assumed here.

Official sources and review

This page was checked against the SSC notice board and the STENO result register on 6 October 2026. Later official notices take precedence. The 2026 notification remains the primary recruitment reference.
