Notification and vacancies
Use the Officer Scale I rows in the revised bank-wise vacancy annexure. The Office Assistant total is not a PO vacancy total. Check the participating bank, state and reservation category together; horizontal-reservation figures should not be added twice. Vacancies are indicative rather than a guarantee of a particular posting.
Eligibility for Officer Scale I
The notification accepts a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification. It lists preferred disciplines, but those preferences do not remove the basic degree requirement. Prior banking experience is not prescribed for Scale I. Local-language proficiency is a separate condition; a degree alone does not establish it.
The original educational-qualification cut-off is 21 September 2026. The application extension says other terms remain unchanged, so it should not be treated as a general extension of every eligibility deadline. Age relaxations and documentary requirements are set out in the notification.
Examination and interview route
Prelims have Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude, with 40 questions in each. Reasoning has 25 minutes and Quantitative Aptitude 20 minutes. The main examination adds Computer Knowledge, General Awareness and a choice of English or Hindi. Qualifying prelims moves a candidate to the main stage; it is not an appointment decision.
Officer Scale I includes an interview after the main examination. This is a material difference from Office Assistant recruitment. Keep your application, qualification and category documents ready for the stage at which IBPS requires them.
Application fees and next action
For officer cadres, the notification lists ₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates and ₹850 for other candidates, inclusive of GST and excluding applicable transaction charges. Registration is closed; retain the submitted form and payment acknowledgement instead of treating an old registration page as a new application opportunity.
Common questions
Is RRB PO the same as IBPS PO? No. This article covers Regional Rural Banks, not the separate public-sector-bank PO/MT recruitment.
Can I use the Clerk timetable? No. Office Assistant prelims and mains use different calendar dates. Use the Scale I entries for this application.
