RRB Technician 2026: CBT Dates, Syllabus, Eligibility & Salary

CEN 02/2026 Technician guide: October CBT, grade-wise syllabus and pay, closed application windows and official centre notices.

Latest official update

RRB Technician CEN 02/2026 has CBT scheduled for 6–9 October 2026. Candidates should use their own e-call letter for the assigned date, grade, centre and reporting time. A 4 October notice changes one Sikar centre for specified Grade III candidates on 6–7 October; it is not a change to every candidate’s examination.

What changed in the latest notices?

The September examination schedule and city-intimation notice provide the current examination-stage information. The October Sikar correction concerns the named venue and candidates only. An older CEN 02/2025 panel or result is a different recruitment; match the CEN number before downloading a notice.

Vacancies and posts

Grade I Signal and Grade III are separate categories with different qualifications and syllabus distributions. The total in the initial notice is not a promise of appointment. Check the RRB, railway/production unit, post category and reservation columns in the vacancy annexure rather than choosing a post from the headline number alone.

Eligibility

Detailed guide: Railway Exams 2026–27: Notifications, Eligibility, Dates & Latest Updates

The ordinary age range on 1 July 2026 is 18–33 for Grade I Signal and 18–30 for Grade III, before prescribed relaxations. Annexure A controls the eligible qualification, trade or discipline and medical standard for each post. An ITI, diploma or degree does not automatically qualify its holder for every Technician post.

Application and candidate access

The registration and modification windows listed above have ended. Existing applicants should enter through the candidate links on the official RRB portal. City information helps plan travel, while the e-call letter supplies the actual examination-centre details. Keep your application number available and read candidate instructions without sharing login credentials with coaching agents.

Syllabus

Grade I Signal preparation includes computer fundamentals, networks and applications, alongside basic science and engineering topics. Grade III General Science is at Class 10 level. Both require mathematics, reasoning and awareness, but sharing subjects does not make the papers identical. Use the grade-wise syllabus guide for the detailed study checklist.

Selection and medical standards

CBT merit is followed by the prescribed verification and medical stages. Medical categories vary by post, including different standards within Grade III. Review those standards before treating a preferred post as suitable. A coaching assessment cannot establish medical fitness or replace the railway medical examination.

Salary and job conditions

The initial basic pay figures above exclude the effect of allowances and deductions. Compare pay level and role before comparing take-home estimates. The existing Technician salary guide explains the Grade I/III distinction. Appointment is subject to the recruitment conditions and checks.

Preparation and previous papers

Use the existing Technician paper resource with the file’s actual examination year and grade visible. A website upload year does not establish the year of a paper. Practise under the current time limit and review errors using your grade’s syllabus.

Before an imminent test, prioritise familiar topics, sleep and travel planning over starting many new topics. Confirm the centre address from the e-call letter and any applicable correction. These are practical preparation suggestions, not an official exam-day checklist.
