Choose the correct year, session and subject. An official question paper is not automatically an answer key. Keep coaching explanations separate from UPSC-issued keys, and do not carry an old application deadline into a future study plan.
Set the starting point
First confirm the academy, the latest notified exam date and your available weekly hours. Take a diagnostic paper and rank weak topics. The plans below are editorial examples, not claims that the exam is one month away or that everyone can finish in the same time.
Three-month example
Weeks 1–4: review core concepts and practise topics. Weeks 5–8: mix subjects, introduce timed sets and revisit recurring errors. Weeks 9–12: use full official papers, review accuracy and refine revision notes. Change the balance if diagnostic results show larger gaps.
Six-month example
Months 1–2: build foundations and map the syllabus. Months 3–4: complete topic practice and spaced revision. Month 5: add mixed timed work. Month 6: use complete papers and targeted review. Maintain regular English and GK practice throughout; include Mathematics only for the relevant combination.
Design the weekly workload
Allocate focused blocks rather than an arbitrary daily hour target. Include one buffer block for missed work and one review block. Reduce new tasks when accumulated mistakes are not being corrected. Protect sleep and ordinary responsibilities so that the schedule can be maintained.
Measure progress
Track topics revised, timed accuracy and repeated errors rather than videos watched. Adjust after each review week. No schedule can promise a written cut-off, SSB recommendation or final admission.
