Detailed guide: CDS Eligibility Checklist 2026–27: Documents & Academy Choices
Match the exact session and academy to the age, degree, nationality and marital-status rules. Read conditional final-year provisions where applicable. Preparation effort cannot substitute for an unmet eligibility condition.
Learn the selection stages
Understand the written-paper combination, negative marking, SSB stages and medical requirements. A first attempt is not a separate easier recruitment route. Do not assume that a high practice score guarantees a final place.

Choose the correct year, session and subject. An official question paper is not automatically an answer key. Keep coaching explanations separate from UPSC-issued keys, and do not carry an old application deadline into a future study plan.
Practise under actual constraints
Use paper time limits and permitted-item rules in practice. Review skipped questions and wrong answers. Work on clear communication and ordinary awareness without rehearsing false personal stories for an interview.
Prepare documents and contingencies
Keep accurate application records and monitor official notices. Plan travel from the actual call letter when issued. If an attempt does not lead to selection, use the official outcome and your practice record to identify improvements rather than buying a “guaranteed success” package.

Frequently asked questions
Does a preparation plan guarantee selection?
No. Written qualification, SSB, medical suitability, eligibility and available vacancies all matter.
Is Mathematics required for OTA?
Not in the OTA written examination. Candidates seeking IMA, INA or AFA take it under the cited scheme.
Can I use the same rules for a later examination?
Use this as preparation guidance and recheck the notification for the actual session you enter.
