Vacancies and posts
The table lists 7,680 regular vacancies, with separate backlog figures. Choose the State/UT and category row; do not add PwBD or ex-servicemen horizontal allocations again to the general category total. The recruitment is for Junior Associates, not Probationary Officers. State-specific local-language proficiency is part of selection.
Eligibility
The ordinary age is 20–28 on 1 April 2026, with the notification’s category and other relaxations. A recognised graduation/equivalent qualification must be completed by 31 December 2026; provisional final-year applicants must meet the stated evidence requirement by that date. Applicants choose one State/UT and must satisfy its specified local-language condition.
Application process and fees
Registration has closed. General/OBC/EWS candidates paid ₹750; SC/ST/PwBD and the other exempt categories listed in the notice did not pay the application fee. Retain the submitted application and payment record. Do not register again merely because a call-letter entry remains on Careers.
Exam pattern
| Section | Questions / marks | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Prelims: English | 30 questions / 30 marks | 20 minutes |
| Prelims: Numerical Ability | 35 / 35 | 20 minutes |
| Prelims: Reasoning | 35 / 35 | 20 minutes |
| Mains: General/Financial Awareness | 50 / 50 | 35 minutes |
| Mains: General English | 40 / 40 | 35 minutes |
| Mains: Quantitative Aptitude | 50 / 50 | 45 minutes |
| Mains: Reasoning and Computer Aptitude | 50 / 60 | 45 minutes |
Prelims total 100 questions/100 marks in one hour; mains total 190 questions/200 marks in 160 minutes. A wrong objective answer loses one-quarter of the mark assigned to that question. Section timings matter when practising.
Syllabus
Organise preparation around the official test names: English, numerical/quantitative aptitude and reasoning for prelims; general/financial awareness and reasoning/computer aptitude alongside English and quantitative aptitude for mains. Arithmetic, reading comprehension, puzzles and banking awareness are useful practice areas, but a coaching topic list is not an official guarantee of questions.
Selection process
Selection includes prelims, mains and the specified local-language requirement. Candidates who supply Class 10 or 12 evidence of having studied that language need not take the language test. Others must qualify; failure prevents appointment. There is no PO-style interview stage in this Junior Associate process.
Salary and job profile
The advertisement gives starting basic pay of ₹26,730, comprising ₹24,050 plus two advance increments for graduates. Allowances and deductions determine pay received. The role covers customer support and sales in the clerical cadre. No inter-circle/inter-state transfer is provided before five years; later exceptional requests remain at the bank’s discretion under its policy.
Preparation and previous papers
Practise prelims in separate 20-minute sections, then use the mains timing table for longer mocks. Include financial awareness and local-language preparation where required. See SBI Clerk previous-paper resources and SBI Clerk result guidance. Check the recruitment number in any linked stage article.
