Programme and admission decisions
Compare the actual branch curriculum before choosing a seat preference. Look at the first-year foundation, compulsory branch courses, electives and project requirements. The curriculum portal is a better basis for this comparison than the institution name alone.
JEE Main and the next admission steps explains the examination route. Do not use an old reporting notice as a new application deadline.
Choose the right admission route
For BTech, keep JEE Main eligibility for the next examination stage, JEE Advanced and JoSAA seat allocation separate. A JEE Main score alone is not admission to IIT Delhi. For BDes, use the UCEED guide and the institute-specific BDes requirements instead of an engineering application.
The curriculum catalogue for 2025 onwards separates BTech, BS, BDes and dual degrees. Compare the actual programme code, required courses and prerequisites before ranking it. Do not assume that a later branch change will be available.
Fees and living costs
The linked IIT Delhi undergraduate admissions page currently displays the 2025–26 intake and July 2025 reporting instructions. Those dates and its fee attachment are not a new 2027 admission offer. Use them only with their stated year; obtain the fee circular for the year and programme of your actual allotment.
A single headline fee can hide differences between programmes, categories and academic years. Obtain the current official fee schedule for your exact course. Record tuition, mandatory charges, deposits, hostel and mess separately; do not compare an annual fee with another college’s full-course total.
Questions to resolve before a seat decision
- Which branch can I realistically shortlist under the applicable counselling rules?
- Which electives are open to my programme, and are branch changes permitted under the current rules?
- What are the tuition, hostel and mess charges for my category and academic session?
Teaching, campus and outcomes
Read the programme syllabus and ask to see the relevant facilities and timetable. For outcomes, request a dated report with the programme, cohort size and number of students placed or progressing to further study. This profile does not assign a rating or treat an advertised highest salary as a typical student outcome.
Make a documented comparison
Add this profile to a college comparison or browse all researched profiles. Compare the same qualification and cost period wherever possible.
