Programme and admission decisions
NIFT’s current admissions portal is still organised around 2026–27, including 2026 seat-allocation notices. A confirmed first-year 2027 application schedule was not found in the NIFT and NTA pages checked on 16 October. The new session’s application must be reached through those official portals; a past spot-round payment notice is not a new application window.
Check the campus-by-programme seat matrix. NIFT’s national programme menu is not evidence that every listed specialisation is available at New Delhi. Keep first-year UG, lateral entry, artisan and postgraduate routes separate.
BDes and BFTech are different choices. Compare their entry requirements, selection stages and curriculum before choosing preferences. The campus is at Hauz Khas, near Gulmohar Park, New Delhi. Inspect actual student work and the costs of materials as well as tuition.
NIFT entrance guide explains the examination route. Do not use an old reporting notice as a new application deadline.
Fees and living costs
A single headline fee can hide differences between programmes, categories and academic years. Obtain the current official fee schedule for your exact course. Record tuition, mandatory charges, deposits, hostel and mess separately; do not compare an annual fee with another college’s full-course total.
Questions to resolve before a seat decision
- Which specialisation and campus combination am I applying for?
- What equipment and materials must I purchase personally?
- How are studio assessment, internship work and the graduation project organised?
Teaching, campus and outcomes
Read the programme syllabus and ask to see the relevant facilities and timetable. For outcomes, request a dated report with the programme, cohort size and number of students placed or progressing to further study. This profile does not assign a rating or treat an advertised highest salary as a typical student outcome.
Design or fashion technology?
Use the NIFT entrance guide to compare BDes and BFTech selection stages. Then assess the kind of work you want to do: a studio brief and portfolio exercise, or a technology and production problem. Ask for the relevant semester syllabus and estimate materials, software and equipment costs before setting campus preferences.
For a different design-admission route, compare UCEED. One examination result does not automatically register you for the other system.
