Eligibility and medical standards
Detailed guide: RRB NTPC 2026–27: Latest Updates, Dates, Eligibility, Pattern & Syllabus
Graduate posts require the recognised degree/equivalent specified in Annexure A; typist posts additionally require the prescribed computer typing proficiency. Undergraduate posts require Class 12 (+2) or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate. The Undergraduate annexure does not insist on 50% for SC/ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen and candidates holding a qualification higher than Class 12. Typing proficiency is essential for the two Undergraduate typist categories.
Age is reckoned on 1 January 2026: Graduate 18–33 and Undergraduate 18–30 before prescribed relaxations. SC/ST and OBC-NCL upper-age relaxations are five and three years respectively; PwBD and other eligible groups have their own clauses and post-suitability conditions. Apply the amended qualification deadlines in the notification section above.
Medical standards are post-specific. Graduate Station Master, Goods Train Manager and Traffic Assistant use A2; Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor uses B2; the two Graduate typist posts use C2. Undergraduate Commercial cum Ticket Clerk uses B2, Trains Clerk A3 and the two typist posts C2. A candidate should not infer fitness solely from education or an online eyesight description; the prescribed railway medical assessment controls.

Application and saved records
Both recruitment windows have closed. Candidates were required to use the official online process, select one RRB for the respective CEN and give eligible post/Railway preferences. The ordinary modification window excluded account-creation details and the chosen RRB. A modification or scribe-detail deadline was not a fresh registration deadline.
Keep the final form, payment acknowledgement, registration number and any permitted corrections. Refer to paragraph 7 of the relevant CEN for the applicable fee, concessions and attendance-linked refund. Do not pay an agent to reopen a closed application or promise an appointment.
Exam pattern and marking
| Stage | Indicative questions | Total and duration |
|---|---|---|
| CBT I | General Awareness 40; Mathematics 30; Reasoning 30 | 100 questions, 90 minutes |
| CBT II | General Awareness 50; Mathematics 35; Reasoning 35 | 120 questions, 90 minutes |
The Graduate notification provides 120 minutes for eligible scribe users at each CBT. Wrong answers attract one-third of the allotted mark as a penalty. The subject split is indicative. CBT I is screening; subsequent shortlisting uses the applicable CBT II and post-specific skill/aptitude rules. Qualifying minima are UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL/SC 30% and ST 25%, with the notification’s conditional PwBD relaxation; competitive cut-offs may be higher.
Graduate Station Master and Traffic Assistant require CBAT. The minimum T-score is 42 in each battery without category relaxation; there is no negative marking in CBAT. For those posts, the final merit calculation uses 70% CBT II and 30% CBAT. Graduate typist posts instead have a qualifying typing test: 30 words/minute in English or 25 in Hindi on computer, with the prescribed conditions and conditional PwBD exemption. The post list determines which route applies.
Official reference: Paragraphs 13.1–13.4.
Undergraduate candidates must use CEN 07/2025 and their stage-specific handout. Do not assume the Graduate CBAT route applies to Undergraduate posts.
Syllabus and preparation
The Graduate CBT syllabus covers Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness. Mathematics includes number systems, fractions, HCF/LCM, ratio, percentages, mensuration, time/work, time/distance, interest, profit/loss, elementary algebra, geometry/trigonometry and statistics.
Reasoning includes analogies, series, coding, mathematical operations, relationships, analytical reasoning, syllogism, Venn diagrams, puzzles, data sufficiency, decisions, maps and graph interpretation. General Awareness spans current events, sport, culture/literature, monuments, Class 10 science, history, geography, polity, economy, scientific developments, environment, computers, transport and government programmes.
Use paragraph 13 of your own CEN as the syllabus checklist. Practice suggestions here are editorial: pair arithmetic/reasoning drills with timed mixed papers, record negative-mark losses, and practise typing or aptitude exercises only for posts that require that stage.

Selection, results and previous cut-offs
Selection continues through the applicable CBTs, post-specific skill/aptitude test, document verification and medical examination. Chandigarh’s 27 August Graduate notice shortlists candidates for CBTST using CBT II performance; its roll-number list is numerical, not merit order. The Undergraduate August result is CBT I shortlisting for CBT II. Neither is a final appointment list.
Use the same RRB, CEN, post/category and stage when comparing cut-offs. A qualifying percentage is not a competitive cut-off. This guide does not publish a speculative all-India “safe score” or describe another CEN’s panel as your result.

City intimation and call letters
A city slip supports travel planning; it is not the admission document. The Undergraduate CBT II schedule specified city/date information around ten days before the examination and e-call letters four days before the individual examination date. These were arrangements for the September stage, not a promise of a live download today.
Visit your RRB’s official recruitment page, match the CEN and stage, and use the candidate link shown there. Check name, date, shift, reporting time, venue and identity-document instructions on the call letter. Avoid publishing your registration details in public comments. Follow the current stage-specific instructions rather than an old CBT I checklist.
